Davide Perissutti

He is at the beginning of the story, when Circo all’inCirca did not yet exist and seemed like a destination as distant as it was absurd. He studies. In the sense that he never stopped: he holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy on the theme of theatrical play, and one in Theology on the theme of creativity. But his true passion is studying the absurdity of human beings, which is why he loves comic language—especially when it uses very few words.

Who is Davide

I hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies (Theology). I studied with great masters of clowning such as Pierre Byland, Philippe Gaulier, Vladimir Olshansky, and Norman Taylor; I attended the "Accademia del Comico" in Rome and the "Hope Music School" in Rome, as well as the professional training year for actors at the "Nico Pepe" Academy in Udine in 2012.

Together with my wife, Irene Giacomello, with whom I have two children—Leone and Nora— I conceived and brought to life the project Circo all’inCirca and I'm the chair man of this organization. I direct several pedagogical projects, the most longstanding being the New Faboulouse Circus Copernicus, as well as major events such as "Circo d’Inverno" for main theatre of the city. At present, I work as the artistic director of the Terminal Festival, though I still feel the urge to tread the stage to make both children and adults laugh. For this reason, I recently staged Overcoat-s, inspired by the Ukrainian writer Gogol short story "The Overcoat" — my first solo project.
